Anxiety Attack Medications Are Not the Best Solution to Overcome Anxiety

Anxiety in itself may not be so bad and is quite normal but when it becomes a regular feature and interferes with our day to day life, it becomes a disorder and we need to get help with anxiety.
There are different kinds of anxiety disorders which stem from varying circumstances and the symptoms of the disorder may also be different.
Whatever the type of disorder one is suffering from, the mental state of these patients are very similar.
They suffer from: 1.
An agitated mind 2.
What-if thoughts 3.
Assuming the worst 4.
Negative thinking 5.
Persistent disturbing thoughts which cannot be controlled When the mental state is so bad it affects the physical well-being also.
These people end up having a pounding heart, stomach problems, high blood pressure and they are unable to do anything properly They also get drained of all energy.
Hence, overcoming anxiety disorder is extremely important.
In some severe cases immediate anxiety attack medications also have to be administered failing which the patient may even commit suicide.
As a preliminary step, anxiety disorder patients should see the doctor who will assess the exact condition and severity of the disorder.
The doctor will give certain medicines to calm down the patient.
Very often anxiety disorder leads to depression.
So anti-depressants are given by the doctor.
One very important thing to note is that none of the drugs should be had without consulting the doctor.
Self-medication is dangerous especially because most of the drugs have terrible side-effects.
Anxiety attack medications must also not be had for a prolonged duration.
The problem with the drugs are that, when abruptly stopped, the patient suffers from withdrawal symptoms.
Some discussion about medicines should also be done.
Beta Blockers, tricyclic anti-depressants and benzodiazepines are commonest of medicines.
Beta blockers have least side side-effects while compared with other medicines.
Though side effects are temporary but they remain chronic.
Lightheartedness, drowsiness, insomnia, short term memory loss, increased heart beat, diarrhea and nightmares are common side effects.
One should avoid drug addiction in case of anxiety attacks because medicines are not ultimate solution of such disorders.
Attacks can be stopped by other sources too when medicines have several dangerous side effects.
Take them only when you don't have any option left and situation goes out of your control.
Start treatment of anxiety disorder in its preliminary stage itself.
The fact remains unchallenged that excess mental stress is key to causing anxiety no matter it is related to office, home or any other issue like peer pressure.
The sole motive should be bringing the situation under control.
Help with anxiety is possible from using different sources including counseling; cognitive behavioral therapy; group therapy, being applied through group effort of two-three therapists doing treatment together to find and treat the problem by generous councelling; exposure therapy done through deliberate exposing of patients before that particular cause which had causal relation with victim and through this he/she is assisted to overcome phobia or mania in that time; psycho-education by which sufferers are prepared to realize and assess condition and assured that this problem is curable through medication and self-education availed from e-books and guidelines from mental health experts besides applying many other relaxation exercises including yoga and tai-chi amongst others.
Those suffering from anxiety must tell their problems to their close friends.
Many a time discussion of the problem with a trusted person, itself makes the problem look less grave.
The attitude of the person must change from negative to a positive one.
The fruitlessness of the constant worry must be highlighted and it should be impressed upon the patient that the worry is ruining his or her health and that the worry itself is baseless.
Lack of rest can aggravate anxiety.
It is true that anxiety itself causes sleeplessness, so to get proper rest meditation may be resorted to.
Sleep is the best medicine for anxiety.
Regulation of food habits and eating healthy is essential so that the stomach is in a good condition.
Very often uneasiness and anxiety disorder is caused due to a bad stomach.
These are simple and effective ways of overcoming anxiety disorder.
