- 1). Turn off the computer and disconnect any devices or cables that are attached to it, including the power cable and the battery.
- 2). Close the lid of the computer and turn it upside down.
- 3). Remove the screw from the memory module cover (see "Resources" for an illustration) and remove the memory cover from the computer.
- 4). Grasp the memory modules by their edges to avoid static shock damage to the computer. Spread the metal clips apart that hold the modules in place and remove them from the computer.
- 5). Insert the upgraded modules at a 45-degree angle, pressing down on them until they click into place.
- 6). Screw the memory module cover back into place and replace the devices that were attached to the computer. You can now turn the computer on and use it again.
