- 1). Navigate to the financial aid page on your school's website. Many schools post a schedule of when they will send Pell Grant checks to students.
- 2). Call or visit the financial aid office if the information is not on the website. Ask whether the Pell Grant money from the federal government has arrived and when you can expect to see a check.
- 3). Notify the financial aid office if you would prefer to pick up the check or have it electronically transferred into your bank account. Otherwise, the office will most likely mail you the check, which means it will take longer for you to receive it.
- 4). Repeat the process for each subsequent disbursement. The federal government requires that schools disburse funds at least twice per academic year, or during each academic term. Some schools choose to disburse funds multiple times per term to spread out the checks and help students budget more effectively.
