- 1). Place the pot onto a piece of foil and mold it around the entire pot, pressing and shaping it into place with your hands until covered. This is the easiest and quickest method to decorate a pot with foil. Fill with dirt and add your favorite flowers. Use different-colored foil on several pots and create a grouping of them for a colorful display.
- 2). Use decoupage to attach foil shapes around the perimeter of the pot. Trace varying shapes into different colors of foil, using the tip of a pen. Cut out the shapes. Use a foam brush to apply a layer of Mod Podge glue to the area on the pot where you want them to go. Press the shapes into place and allow time for the glue to dry. Seal in the foil shapes by applying an additional layer of Mod Podge glue to the surface. Use waterproof Mod Podge if using the pots outside.
- 3). Mold your foil into three-dimensional shapes. Form hearts, stars, coils and other figures. Glue the shapes around your pot using a urethane-based product. Create patterns around the edge with the different shapes and use several colors of foil for variety.
