DIY PC Radiator

    • 1). Clean the outside of the heater core thoroughly, clearing it of any dirt and debris, allow it to dry and repeat, making sure that any flakes of dirt or loose paint have been totally removed.

    • 2). Examine the fittings on the ends of the heater core. These are the points where the heater core would have been plumbed in to the cooling system of the car. If these points are threaded, it may be possible to screw your PC cooling fittings directly to the hose ports. If not, cut away the tips of the fittings using the hacksaw, then push the PC cooling lugs onto the port, closing it with plumbing sealant. Allow it to dry overnight.

    • 3). Connect a hose to one of the new ports, and use cleaning solution to thoroughly flush out the inside of the heater core. Repeat several times until no more debris is visible in the fluid leaving the core. Leave it to dry out overnight, and rinse again in the morning to confirm the core has been fully cleaned.

    • 4). Mount the radiator inside the PC case, around one inch from the surface of the fans -- this extra distance allows the air currents to "billow" out more, overcoming the dead spot directly in the center of the fan. Connect the hose ports on the radiator to the rest of the cooling system.
