How to Get the Automatic Cutter to Work on the Epson 129H Printer

    Troubleshooting the Cutter

    • 1). Turn off the printer and open the cutter cover by sliding it toward the front of the printer. The cover is the portion of the top of the printer that is closest to you when you are directly facing the printer and can read the control panel. The cover does not come all the way off. It opens just enough for you to access the cutter's knob.

    • 2). Turn the cutter's knob until you observe a triangle in the area of the cutter opening. The cutter's knob is a small gear that appears just in front of the cutter, on the right-hand side. The opening for the triangle you are looking for is just to the left of the knob, between the instruction label and the cutter's knob.

    • 3). Close the cutter cover in the reverse manner in which you opened it, by simply sliding it back into its original position.

    • 4). Open the printer cover by pressing the large light grey on the top. This button is rectangular in shape and is on the right-hand side of the top of the printer, just in front of the control panel and the Feed button.

    • 5). Remove any paper jams by pulling out the roll of paper past any crinkled parts. Cut the crinkled part of the paper roll off by pulling it against the serrated edge of the cutter Re-install the paper roll by re-inserting the edge of the paper under the cutter and pressing the "Feed" button on the control panel. Your printer is now ready to use.
