Beaver Creek Village Tour

Beaver Creek Village Tour

Beaver Creek Village is the centerpiece of Beaver Creek Ski Resort, which is located in Colorado about 10 miles from Vail and 100 miles from Denver.

Visitors to Beaver Creek will find all the amenities conducive to a perfect ski vacation in a pedestrian village modeled on a European village in the Alps. Like in Europe, you'll be able to ski and out of the heart of the village, stay within walking distance of a ski lift, rent gear, get ski lessons, dine slopeside and enjoy shopping and après-ski activities from the end of the day through evening.

Read on for more information on vacationing at Beaver Creek.

Beaver Creek Village

When you visit Beaver Creek Ski Resort, you'll find everything you need for a great ski vacation right in Beaver Creek Village. From lodging to dining, ski equipment rentals and ski lessons, shopping, art galleries, performing arts, off-slope and après-ski activities, and, of course, the Centennial Lift so you can get right to the mountain from the village.

Beaver Creek Lodging

There are a variety of lodging options available at the resort. The Park Hyatt Resort and Spa is located directly in the village, while the Osprey is perched on the side of Beaver Creek Village. The Pine Lodge is just down the road. Condos are available throughout the village and the resort. Regardless of where you stay, you can either walk or take a shuttle to everywhere within Beaver Creek and the other villages at Arrowhead and Bachelor Gulch, which is home to the Ritz Carlton.
I stayed at the Osprey, which is ski in/ski and has the closest lift in North America - right outside the back door.

The Osprey is a small boutique hotel designed in the Alpine lodge tradition. There's a breakfast buffet, lunch, apres-ski, room service and a tapas/light fare menu available. The hotel has a ski room and valet, valet parking and a hot tub and pool. It was a perfect location for access to all of Beaver Creek.

Beaver Creek Ski School and Ski Equipment Rental

Ski and snowboard equipment rentals and group and private lessons are available for all levels of skiers and riders at Beaver Creek. There's a daily 2 hour free Mountain Welcome Tour for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders.

You can save time and money by reserving your gear ahead of time on rentskis.com. Visit the Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School webpage for information and to book children and adult group and private lessons.

Beaver Creek Village Centennial Ski Lift

Once you're set with gear, lessons and lift tickets head to the lifts. There's access to the Centennial and Strawberry chairlifts from the village and to beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain.

Beaver Creek Village Restaurants

Whether you want a quick cup of coffee at Starbucks, pizza from Blue Moose Pizza, slopeside steak at the Beaver Creek chophouse or fine Rocky Mountain dining at Splendido in the Chateau there’s a dining option for you. Splendido has impeccable service and exquisite food served with a view of the mountain. The Grouse Mountain Inn, also with a view, has a menu full of regionally influenced and seasonally focused menu, much of which is from local providers.
A short ride away, Vista at Arrowhead, adjacent to the golf course and located in the clubhouse of the Country Club of the Rockies, offers simplified fine dining accompanied by Vail's Piano Man Micky Poage.

Reservations are recommended at most restaurants, and many are on Open Table, so it's easy to book.

Beaver Creek Market

Beaver Creek Market sells beer, wine, groceries, household items, toiletries, ice cream, fudge and other supplies.

Beaver Creek Village Shops

You'll want to carve out some time for shopping during your stay at Beaver Creek. From the latest ski fashion to fine art, you'll find clothes, art galleries, toys, jewelery, photography and more in the shops at Beaver Creek.

Beaver Creek Ice Skating Rink

When you bring the family to Beaver Creek, include ice skating lessons and a twirl around the rink in your vacation plans. Skate and helmet rentals are available. Or, you can watch the action seated by a fire pit by the edge of the rink while enjoying a crepe to go from Beaver Crepes.

Beaver Creek Village Transportation

The chapel at Beaver Creek offers services on Sunday. After a while at Beaver Creek, you start listening for the melodic tunes of the church bells which ring throughout the day.

Visiting Beaver Creek

You don't need a car at Beaver Creek. You can arrange transportation to and from Denver or Vail/Eagle airport, and it's an easy walk or shuttle ride around the resort. Beaver Creek's shuttle service is complimentary and takes you throughout the resort and to the other Beaver Creek villages, Arrowhead and Bachelor Gulch.
Even better, if you're at a hotel or restaurant the staff will call the shuttle for you and it will be there within a few minutes of the call.

Great skiing, terrific accommodations, fine dining, plenty of off-slope activities make for a wonderful vacation for families and couples.

Beaver Creek's tag line "Not exactly roughing it" is an apt description for this all-encompassing ski vacation. Beaver Creek has thought of it all and it's an ideal Rocky Mountain vacation spot for both families and couples.
