How to Fix Foam on a Speaker

    • 1). Take apart the speaker. Remove the cone from the speaker by taking a knife and separating it from the cabinet until you can pop it out. Examine all of the tears in the foam that surrounds the speaker.

    • 2). Take a piece of toilet paper or tissue paper and measure it against the size of the tear. Cut the measured piece.

    • 3). Use either glue or contact cement to attach the paper patch to the speaker foam. Place the glue on the paper rather than the speaker. This will prevent damage if glue should get into any parts. Check that the paper is firmly in place.

    • 4). Give enough time for the glue to dry. If the edges do not appear secure, then add more glue.

    • 5). Put the repaired cone back on the speaker, and then put the speaker back together.
