Ever noticed what the world's best players carry in their bag? No, then next time look closely at their clubs, especially the irons.
You'll notice that many of them use a combination of Cavity Back and Muscle Back irons.
Generally speaking, the longer irons will be full cavity back with the short irons and wedges being blades.
If the Pros are doing it, then surely it has to be a good move.
With that in mind Nike have produced their Victory Red Pro Combo Irons.
This set of golf irons progressively moves from Pocket Back 3 and 4 irons, to Split Cavity 5,6, and 7, then 8,9,PW are full Blades.
The idea behind this system is to give the golfer more consistency from off centre hits and a higher trajectory with the longer irons, while the Split Back offers enhanced control and workability and then the Blades provide the ultimate in feel and accuracy for the short game.
The centre of gravity of each club has been precisely adjusted through Nike's Centre of Gravity Mapping system.
By moving the centre of gravity in each club throughout the VR Pro Combo set, Nike has achieved the optimal launch trajectory and distance control.
The Nike VR Pro Combo's are forged from 1025 stainless steel using a new high precision forging process.
The club face is then machined to give a perfectly flat finish, after which the grooves are precision die-stamped on to the face to eliminate variance between the clubs.
Due to the rules changing with regards to grooves, Nike have unvielled their new X3X High Frequency grooves.
This new design has more grooves that are deeper and closer together than previous Nike golf irons, which provides a more cosistent ball flight, a cleaner hit and even more spin, while still conforming to the USGA an R&A rules.
The Nike VR Pro Combo Irons come with the ever popular True Temper Dynamic Gold steel shafts.
Not only have Nike used the latest technology and innovation to produce the VR Pro Combo's, but they clearly given long consideration to the look of them too.
These irons really are immaculately styled, with Nike's VR emblem and chrome finish.
