- During the summer, the ceiling fan will cool the air by running the blades counterclockwise. As the fan spins around, the blades will cause a cool wind to keep the room cool.
- During the summer, the ceiling fan will move the hot air downwards into the room if the fan is set for clockwise, which is the setting you would use mostly in the winter to keep the heat away from the ceiling and more so in the room.
- When the fan is running counterclockwise during the summer, you can set the fan on high to provide more of a breeze. During the winter, when the fan is on clockwise, the fan should be set on low or the draft from the blades turning on high can cause a cool draft mixed with warm air.
