- The Knight Armor is an unlockable outfit that references “Ghosts and Goblins,” another Capcom game. In “Ghosts and Goblins,” the main character is Arthur, a knight wearing armor similar to the “Dead Rising 2” outfit. This outfit requires four separate parts to work properly: the Knight Armor, Knight Helmet, Boots and Full Beard Mustache.
- Wearing the Knight Armor gives Chuck an extra “layer” of health points while it is being worn. The armor loses health points whenever Chuck gets hit by a zombie, preserving his health. Once the armor's health points reach zero, it breaks into pieces and falls off, leaving Chuck in only his underwear. You cannot “heal” the armor using food the way you can heal normal damage. However, saving the game or moving to a new area will reset the Knight Armor's health points. Once the armor breaks, you cannot get it back. The Knight Armor also increases the distance Chuck can throw objects while he is wearing it.
- Each component of the Knight Armor requires you to find a special object or reach a milestone in the game. For instance, to acquire the basic Knight Armor, you must finish the game with the "S Rank" ending. To get it, complete all cases successfully, give Katey the Zombrex on time and give the Zombrex to TK before you complete the “Facts” case. To get the Knight's Helmet, rescue Jack in “Welcome to the Family,” then beat him in a game of poker during “Ante Up.” You can buy the boots from Moe's Maginations for $2,000,000. If you have both the Bargaining 1 and Bargaining 2 magazines in your inventory, this price decreases. Find the Full Beard Mustache in the Wave of Style Store in the Royal Flush Plaza. It will move to your locker in the safe house as soon as you put it on.
- Wearing the full Knight Armor may cause a bug in “Dead Rising 2” where a layer of the map disappears. This can cause Chuck to accidentally fall through the map and into other areas of the game. To resolve the bug, remove the armor, save the game, then exit completely. Reload the game and the new save to restore the map to its original state.
