- 1). Speak to the Inscription trainer in a big city on Azeroth. For Alliance players, these include Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus, and the Exodar. Horde players can find trainers in Orgrimmar, the Undercity, Thunder Bluff, and Silvermoon City.
- 2). Buy six to seven stacks of Silverleaf herbs at an Auction House. Mill the Silverleaf into 60 Alabaster Pigments, then inscribe new items until you reach level 75.
- 3). Now buy four to five stacks of Bruiseweed. Mill the Bruiseweed into 40 Dusky Pigments and inscribe until you reach level 100.
- 4). Buy twelve to fifteen stacks of Kingsblood. Mill the Kingsblood into 90 Golden Pigments and inscribe until you reach level 150.
- 5). Buy sixteen to nineteen stacks of Fadeleaf. Mill the Fadeleaf into 110 Emerald Pigments and inscribe until you reach level 200. Store all Indigo Pigments if you come across any while questing during this step.
- 6). Buy ten to twelve stacks of Sungrass. Mill the Sungrass into 100 Violet Pigments and inscribe until you reach level 250.
- 7). Buy nine to eleven stacks of Dreamfoil. Mill the Dreamfoil into 90 Silvery Pigments and inscribe until you reach level 300.
- 8). Buy twelve to thirteen stacks of Felweed. Mill the Felweed into 80 Nether Pigments and inscribe until you reach level 350.
- 9). Travel to Outland. If you're in the Alliance, talk to Michael Schwan in Honor Hold. If you're in the Horde, talk to Neferatti in Thrallmar. Both trainers can allow you to level up past 350, also known as the Grand Master level.

Buy twenty to twenty-two stacks of Goldclover. Mill the Goldclover into 200 Azure Pigments and inscribe until you reach level 435. - 11
Buy twelve to fourteen stacks of Goldclover for every level between 435 and 450. This amounts to 180 to 210 stacks. Mill the Goldclover into Azure Pigments, then inscribe until you reach 450, the highest level.
