I feel the need to follow up my last article "My Cat Moe and the Aliens", because I know that a great many of us still cringe at the word "Alien".
Many of us find ourselves rolling our eyes, and we simply jump to the conclusion that that person must be crazy.
I guess that all depends on our version of Crazy.
Some people feel that the belief in a God is crazy.
When one looks at what a god is, how can we come to any other conclusion? It is the belief in the existence of something that we have never seen with our own eyes, have no direct evidence of, and yet so many people still believe in the existence of it.
How is this any different than the belief in Aliens? Let me rephrase, how is this any different than the belief in life on other planets? That version of the question sounds less crazy.
In the case of life on other planets we base this belief on no direct evidence, but on something we may have witnessed with our own eyes.
In a sense Aliens have one up on God, because they at least seem to show themselves to us from time to time.
Religious beliefs are based upon what we are taught from a young age by our family and friends.
We may find religion at a later date, but we are still only taught by those who were raised with that particular set of beliefs.
With the UFO phenomenon there seems to be more direct events taking place.
I doubt that many of us are taught from birth about aliens like we are about God.
So, where does the belief in UFOs and aliens stem from? The belief stems from a group of individuals who claim to have had their own personal experiences with them.
These people go on to educate others about UFOs, USO's, and aliens that have not had their own personal experiences with them.
For those of you out there who deny the existence of UFOs or aliens I doubt there is much I can do to change your mind.
It is one of those things you have to experience for yourself before you put any stock into the notion that something is going on.
The only thing I can do is point you to some useful information.
Chariot of the Gods is a good book to read.
I buy into this hypothesis only because the visual evidence is hard to deny.
The fact remains that we can look back throughout our time on this earth and see depictions of things in our historical art work.
Things that look very much like a rocket ship, space man, a UFO.
There are also unexplainable events in our past that make you wonder.
How is it that people in the past had knowledge of stars and star systems that are not visible from earth with the naked eye? Some of these objects can not be viewed without a powerful telescope.
And yet historical records of their existence can be found.
Long before we should have known about them.
The very existence of religion and the Bible itself may owe a great deal to Alien encounters.
It is irrational to assume that we are it.
Given the vastness of space, all the planets revolving around stars, billions of stars contained within our own galaxy.
A galaxy that is only one amongst billions of galaxies.
We assume that based on our limited knowledge and technology, that other races would not be able to reach earth with ease.
For all we know space travel could be nothing more than a hop, skip, and a jump, with the right technology.
We base the improbability of aliens having visited earth solely on our limited knowledge, on what we think we know about the universe.
Just imagine how advanced our knowledge is today compared with 100, 200, or 500 years ago.
Then imagine how much more knowledgeable another race of beings can be that have a million or more years on us.
The fact remains that we can not exclude anything based upon what we think we know.
We should always try to keep an open mind, because a fact today could be a fiction tomorrow.
