Easy Dessert from Spain - Chocolate-Covered Pears
Peras al vino y chocolate is a simple fruit dessert, perfect for summer and autumn dinners when a rich dessert won’t do. Chocolate holds a special place in the Spanish cuisine, since it was discovered by the explorers of the New World. From thick hot chocolate and churros to chocolate flan, Spanish love chocolate.
First, peel and brown firm pears in a frying pan with butter. Then, simmer the pears in white wine until cooked. Once they are completely cooled, cover the pears in melted chocolate. Refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Serve chilled pears with cold sparkling wine for an elegant finish to any dinner.
