- 1). Follow the link in "Additional Resources," below, to the Bad Copy Pro website or a similar Zip disk recovery website. Download and install the software if you don't already have a file recovery program on your computer.
- 2). Bring up the "Start" menu and click "My Computer." Find the drive letter that corresponds to your computer's Zip drive.
- 3). Right-click on the Zip drive and select "Format." Click "Start" and wait for the formatting process to finish fixing the corrupted Zip disk.
- 4). Open the file recovery program. Click the "Flash Drive and Zip Disk" icon at the left side of the window.
- 5). Click the "Drive Letter" button and choose the Zip drive's location from the drop-down menu. Click the "Recovery Mode" button and choose "Rescue Corrupted Files."
- 6). Click "Next." Scroll down to the "Recovery Option" heading. Click the radio button labeled "Max Data."
- 7). Click on the check box next to the specific folder you want to recover. Select all of the folders if you want to recover all of the corrupted data.
- 8). Select "Next" and then click "Start Recovery" to save the recovered files back onto the Zip disk.
