- 1). Inspect the propane tank of your grill (if it has one) for an adequate level of propane. Lift the tank to see whether it feels heavy.
- 2). Inspect that the propane tank is attached to the Char-Broil grill via the gas hose. Make sure the valve is screwed on tightly.
- 3). Try to light your Char-Broil grill using a match instead of the igniter. Loosen the burner if it does not light, and slide the burner onto the valve and attempt to light the grill again. If it does not light, reset the overpressure device regulator according to the instructions in your manual.
- 4). Press the igniter button and see whether a blue spark is released. If the grill does not light, make sure the electrode tip is near the port opening for the burner. If it is not, adjust it so that it is closer. It should be 1/4 inch from the port, according to the Char-Broil website.
- 5). Contact Char-Broil at 800-241-7548 if you are still having problems with your grill. A representative should be able to help you troubleshoot the unit.
