How to Drape a Belly Dancing Veil

    • 1). Take the veil of your choice and loop one end of it across your elbow. It should hang down in front of your arm. You can loop it around to make sure it doesn't fall, but you will need a longer veil so that when you move it doesn't jerk your arms. Let it fall loosely behind your back, and loop--or drape--it around or across your other elbow. This works best when you don't have to move your arms very high.

    • 2). Another option is to drape the veil so it covers your stomach. This is great for hiding stretch marks or those extra pounds. Make sure the veil is a very light fabric so you can still see through it. Tuck the veil into the front of your bra and let it hang down. To secure it, you can pin it to your pants or just let it hang freely.

    • 3). Draping the veil from your bra can also be done by securing the two sides to the back of your bra straps (at the bottom) after you've tucked it into the front. This gives it a more drape-like affect.

    • 4). Dancing with the veil is one of the best and most elegant options you can use. Start with the veil across your shoulders or around your arms as described in Step 1. Once you have made your entrance, gracefully remove the veil and use it for your routines. Many dance routines use the veil, and the possibilities for it are unlimited!
