Coping Well With Embarrassment

Embarrassment is a phenomenon that nobody is exempt from.
It is a certain feeling that comes in effect of having done something wrong we did not intend to happen.
This emotion arises when we detect our self-esteem greatly lowered due to our own doing that has caused other people to look at us at lower estimations.
When one is embarrassed, chances are that individual took a long hard week thinking things over, trying to actually recover from whatever mishap happened.
Humiliation is not easy for anyone especially for the self-imposed unplanned misfortunes.
There are many causes of embarrassment.
Some of these are unavoidable like mistaking someone for somebody else or dressing up exactly the same way as another person in a special event.
Others though are preventable such as clumsiness, while most are caused by accidents similar to bumping one's face straight on a clear glass wall.
These instances may sound funny to spectators, but the victim gains all the negatives.
Medical conditions that involve symptoms similar to puking and chronic flatulence are examples of personal degradation as well.
However, these cases can be evaded if proper medical advice in relation to the primary disease condition is sought.
Dealing with embarrassment varies from person to person.
This is where an individual is supposed to let out his or her most effective coping mechanism.
Escaping from reality by pretending that the dreadful episode never happened works well for a few.
Others make up excuses, lie about the situation, and make up a totally different story in order to get away.
The strong-willed personalities just ignore the comments, get over it, and get on with their obviously unaffected lives.
Weaker ones on the other hand are more prone to experience deteriorating ego, and then eventually break down.
In reality, the idea of embarrassment is only a personal state of mind on how one views the disgrace that happened.
The causes may vary just as much as each fellow has distinct manners of managing the scenario.
Though it would absolutely help if there were possible effective solutions to these circumstances, doing so is majorly impossible because fact remains that most of these happenings arrive when we are unguarded.
We just have to be careful and wary, and attempt to be at our best at all times if we desire to be free from mortification.
However, you are the one who decides whether or not other's perceptions matter because truth is that you hold the key to your own feelings.
