Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Shut off your home's water supply and unplug the HVAC's power cord to disable power.
2
Unscrew the compression nut on the water line connected to the humidifier with your fingers by turning it to the left.
3
Insert the nail into the inlet end of the water line, which has an arrow pointing upward near the connection, to pull out the in-line strainer. Insert a new strainer in the inlet end.
4
Connect the in-line strainer back into the inlet end of the water line and tighten the compression nut by turning it to the right to secure it.
5
Turn on the water supply and plug the HVAC system into the nearby electrical outlet.
6
Push the switch below "Blower Activation" to the right to power on the HVAC system.
7
Grab the knob on the front of the humidifier control and turn it clockwise until the arrow points to "Test/Reset."
8
Leave the arrow pointed at the reset option for one minute while the humidifier operates while the heating system's fan runs.
9
Turn the knob counterclockwise to set it back to option 3, 4 or 5 to return the humidifier to normal operation mode. The solenoid makes a clicking noise when the humidifier is active and begins distributing moisture through the water feed tube.
