6 Ways to Beat Holiday Stress

You're the life of the party but with the fun comes many responsibilities. There's the menu of course, the preparation, the decorations, and lets not forget the cleaning. We've all been there and can soon be there again. With this, the key is to not let the holidays become about stress more than enjoyment and turn into holiday depression. Stress is never enjoyable and can hinder your life. Here are 6 ways to manage holiday stress:

1. Learn to Say No- This is so hard for many of us to say but so necessary for our sanity. We cannot be everywhere and do everything. Say no when needed, even if it may hurt feelings it will be better for you.

2. Perfections is Not the Key- Don't take everything so seriously. So what the cake it is a little lopsided, it will still taste just as good. Don't worry so much about everything being perfect but more about enjoying yourself.

3. Take Time For Yourself- Even if it is 10 minutes a day, find a little private time. Go in a closet if you have to and tune your Ipod to your fav song and dance. Or go for a walk but just have time for yourself.

4. Save Your Money- Know what you will spend before you step foot into a store. Figure out a budget. Stick to it. Find coupons, sales or anyways you can save money as not to be stressed later.

5. Laughter as medicine- The old saying holds true. Laughing will make your holiday memories fonder. Turn the hard moments into jokes.

6. Don't Think You're Alone- Ask for help from friends, familiy, etc. Remember even if you could do it all you don't have to. There are people willing to help. Hire or pay for a store brought cake if you have to but don't put it all on yourself.

Holiday stress is nothing to forget about. Don't brush it under the carpet wen you see it coming. These 6 tips can help you distress before it becomes worse. If you still cannot get a hold of your stress consider seeing a professional.
