The best method I have found to work the core of the body, of which the abs are a part, is by using a piece of equipment called a kettlebell.
This is a device that looks like a cannon ball with a handle.
They have been used for centuries in Russia and have been shown to burn as many as 20 calories a minute.
The exercises may look simple, useless and even stupid but within seconds you will be winded and you will be exhausted after a 15 minute workout.
One of the main exercises using a kettlebell is called the swing.
There are many variations but it starts with holding a kettle bell by the handle with one or both hands and simply swinging it between your legs up in the air about shoulder height.
This may look useless like I said however you are using your core muscles to launch the kettle bell into space.
You are thrusting with your hips which is also working your back and abs as well.
As I said there are a number of variations of the swing exercise.
You can use one hand or two hands.
You can use two kettle bells in a double swing and then you can alternate it swinging one forward and one back.
You can even incorporate walking into the workout; backwards, forward, even sideways.
To start you will want to get a 35 lb.
bell if you are a man and a 25 lb.
if you are a woman.
Then simply start swinging as many times as you can.
Put the bell down when you can't swing anymore.
