- 1). Check all of the connections to ensure that they are secure. The machine will not work, or will not work properly, if the hoses or tank are not secured. Push all of the hoses into their sockets to ensure they are latched in place. Make sure the tank is locked into place by lowering the tank handle.
- 2). Plug the machine in to see if it is working. If it is not, unplug the machine again.
- 3). Lower the PowerSteamer handle by stepping on the handle release bar on the bottom of the back of the machine. Remove the tank by lifting the handle and pulling it up.
- 4). Carry the tank to the sink if the machine is not picking up dirty water or spraying cleaning solution or water. This is likely because the tank-in-tank is full of dirty water or out of clean water and solution. Remove the lid by lowering the handle in the opposite direction. Pour the dirty water into the sink by tipping the tank. Fill up the tank by pouring cleaning solution and water into the spout up to the fill line. Consult the solution's instructions to determine how much to use.
- 5). Turn the machine on its side if it has lost suction. This could be because the belt is stuck or the pump belt is broken. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into slots around the belt access door to remove it.
- 6). Unscrew the white retainer plate on the bottom of the machine with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Remove the black brush arm.
- 7). Pick off lint, hair or strings from around the brush bar. Use scissors to clip off hair that you cannot pick off.
- 8). Check the pump belt to see if it is stretched or broken. Remove it if it is broken, and replace it by wrapping one end of a new belt around the red pump pulley and the other end around the silver motor shaft.
- 9). Replace the brush arm and the white retainer plate. Snap the belt access door back into place.
- 10
Replace the tank by lowering it into the machine and lowering the handle to lock it into place.
