- The 2001 Chevy S-10 was available in six, two-wheel drive trims. It was also available in three, four-wheel drive trims. Both versions came with regular, extended and crew cabs. The S-10s originally sold for between $12,849 and $24,909. As of December 2010, Kelley Blue Book values the 2001 S-10 pickups at between $4,350 and $6,900.
- Chevy's 2001 S-10 trucks came standard with driver and passenger airbags and anti-lock brakes. Crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the trucks good ratings in head, neck and chest crash-protection, but marginal ratings in structure and safety-cage protection. Overall, the IIHS gave the 2001 S-10 a marginal crash-test rating.
- Each of the 2001, Chevy S-10 two-wheel drive trucks came equipped with a 2.2-liter in-line four-cylinder engine with 120 horsepower at 5,000 rpm, and 140 foot-pounds of torque. The four-wheel drive S-10s featured 4.3-liter V-6 engines with 190 horsepower at 4,400 rpm, and 250 foot-pounds of torque at 2,800 rpm.
