Application Problem

If you cannot control the scroll bar for a certain application, it may have stopped responding. Close the window and open it a second time.

Touchpad Issues

If the scrolling function of your HP Pavilion is not working, you may have to install the latest version of the "Synaptics Touchpad Driver." Before downloading, however, refer to the manual of your computer to find out which driver version is compatible with the HP Pavilion laptop model you are using.

Mouse Issues

Problems with your mouse may cause problems controlling the scroll bar in your computer. Unplug the mouse from its port and then plug it back in. Reboot the computer if this does not solve the problem. Clean the mouse to eliminate dust and dirt that may be affecting its performance. Replace it with a new one if your mouse's performance does not change.
