Blizzard just unleashed a firestorm of speculation as they announced their third expansion pack for World of Warcraft at Blizzcon this last week - Cataclysm.
The news has been met with a mix of reactions thus far, but then again, everyone is always mixed about their reactions to World of Warcraft.
They all end up loving it anyways.
Such is the power of Blizzard to effectively turn anything they do into an enjoyable experience.
The big question though is how World of Warcraft Cataclysm will play out - what features will have the biggest impact and how will they change as the game evolves? There's no way to know for sure just yet, but we can sure speculate: Worgen Sorry Horde, but Alliance wins out on this one.
The Worgen are without a doubt the coolest new race in the game to date (and maybe period).
I don't think there's anyone out there who can honestly say they are not 100% stoked to learn more about the lore and leveling scheme for the Worgen race in Cataclysm.
It's going to be epic.
Instances in Azeroth It's been a long time since anyone ran a really good instance in Azeroth.
That content has been relegated to solo farming material at this point.
And while Onyxia is returning in 3.
2.
2, the advent of new instances in Cataclysm that take place in familiar old locations is going to be an amazingly fun experience.
It'll be interesting to see what lore plays out and how it interacts with the story.
The New Class Combos Okay, this technically has no bearing on the actual way in which the game plays out.
After all, the 10 classes are still all very much the same.
But, it is going to be cool to have Dwarf Mages and Human Hunters out there.
And while the odds are that Blizzard did this solely to push people back to level new characters from scratch (again, they really like Azeroth), it's going to be a fun experience for a lot of people who are currently naysaying.
World of Warcraft Cataclysm, whatever you think, is an epic event that is going to change the face of the game completely - and that is probably exactly what Blizzard had in mind.
It is going to be a fun next few months as we look forward to the Beta and eventual launch of this exciting new expansion pack.
