- 1). Place your projector on a flat surface so that its front side is parallel with the projection surface you want to use.
- 2). Connect the monitor cable to your computer's monitor outlet, and connect the other end to the projector's monitor input. Tighten the screws on either side of the connectors.
- 3). Turn on your XGA projector and set it to the correct video source. Your computer should detect the projector as soon as it's turned on.
- 4). Right-click on your desktop and click "Screen Resolution." Your computer's monitor and the projector should be listed in the top panel of the window. Click the "Detect" button if the projector is not listed.
- 5). Select the projector from the "Display" menu and open the "Resolution" menu.
- 6). Set the slider to 1024-by-768 or 640-by-480, depending on whether you would like a higher-resolution or more colorful image. Your computer should automatically detect the number of colors the projector can display.
- 7). Click "OK" to apply the settings and close the window. The projector should display a copy of what is displayed on your desktop.
- 8). Adjust the projector's zoom and focus until the image is at right size and well-focused. You may need to move the projector closer to or further from the screen to get a clear image. Once the image is focused, you're ready to go.
