- 1). Open a word processing program, click "file" and select "new." When the "new document" panel opens, type "business cards" into the "search online for" box and click the "go" button.
- 2). Review the resulting list of business card templates; click a link to view a preview of the design. Click the "download" button and within a few moments, a full sheet of the business cards will open in the word processing workspace.
- 3). Place your cursor in the top left business card on the page and type directly over the top of the placeholder text information on the card. Add any contact details you want to include, such as your name, title, organization, address, phone number, e-mail address and website.
- 4). Add any other important information, such as your certifications, training, awards or specials, such as "Mention this card for 10 percent off an installation."
- 5). Highlight all of the new text and use the text toolbar at the top of the page to change the font, size and color of the words. Consider making your name a slightly larger font and place it in bold.
- 6). Optional: Click your cursor in the very top-left corner of the card. Click the "insert" menu, select "picture" and click "from file." Browse to a file on your computer of a company logo or photo to include on the card. Double-click the file and it will appear in the space on the card. If it opens too large, grab a corner and shrink it to reduce it in size.
- 7). Highlight the entire top left card, including all lines of text and any graphic added, then right-click and select "copy." Click your cursor into the next card on the page, highlight all of the placeholder text, right-click and select "paste." This will paste your new card information on top of the template card. Repeat to paste over the top of all of the cards on the page.
