The concept of safes was come out about hundreds of years ago.
It has been developed to protect precious things like cash, art, jewelry or other valuable objects.
Though the mechanisms and outlooks of safes are changing with the time, function or objective remains same.

They are categorized on the way they are designed or constructed.
Common construction types of burglary safes are B-rated, C-rated and B/C-rated burglary safes.
Fire safes Fire safes are designed to protect the safe's substances or contents from being damaged that caused by fire.
It should be mentioned here that fire safes do not mean "fire-proof".
Fire safes only provide protection against specific kinds of fires for a certain interval of time so that steps can be taken.
There is a classification of fire safes exists based upon the type of assets they are developed to protect, the maximum temperature of fire they can resist and the protection time period.
There are three principal categories of fire safes: UL Class 350: The maximum expected temperature of this is 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
It is Suitable for protecting paper documents.
UL Class 150: The maximum expected temperature of this is 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
It is suitable for protecting media types such as magnetic tapes, CDs and DVDs.
UL Class 125: The maximum expected temperature of this is 125 degrees Fahrenheit.
It is suitable for protecting all kind of electronic medias.
