Course Features for Students

• Apex Learning online courses are formatted to be completed over the course of a traditional academic semester. Each unit of a course contains three to six lessons and each course contains five to seven units. Students read material, practice concepts, participate in lab exercises and complete assessment exercises in each lesson. Courses feature traditional written and visual coursework in addition to multimedia tutorials and Internet resources. Students complete exercises and exams through an online portal.
  
  

Distance Learning Features

• Teachers can set up proctored exams, which require a supervising adult to unlock a testing page and monitor students to ensure that cheating does not occur. Apex Learning provides real time tracking that records how long it takes students to complete each exam or exercise. Teachers can customize each Apex Learning course to meet school district educational requirements. Each course provides students with a calendar that shows the expected due dates for each exercise or exam.
  
  

Core Courses

• Apex Learning offers courses in English, fine arts, math, science, social studies and world languages. Course offerings include geometry, pre-calculus, earth science, psychology, American literature, world history, U.S. and global economics, Spanish, French and art and music appreciation. Apex Learning also offers a physical education course that requires students to participate in cardiovascular and strength training exercises.
  
  

Honors and Advanced Placement Courses

• Apex Learning also offers honors courses in English, math, science, social studies and world languages. Advanced placement course offerings include statistics, chemistry, English language and composition, macroeconomics, and French language and composition. Students can also enroll in exam preparation courses for advanced placement tests and high school knowledge aptitude tests like the FCAT.
  
  

Specialized Learning Offerings

• Apex Learning provides courses for students who are struggling with achieving grade-level literacy or academic knowledge requirements. Literacy challenged students may enroll in courses focused on English, math, science or social studies. These courses allow students to increase reading comprehension while teaching core subjects. Apex Learning offers foundational courses in English and math that provide remedial reviews of basic concepts.
