When it comes to building a strong core and six pack abs then pull ups are one of best types of exercises that you can do because they help you build a strong core.
They are great for increasing your upper body strength and also great for building six pack abs because all the time that you are doing these exercises your abs are engaged.
Below are 3 different types of wide arm pull ups that are great for changing things up a little and to make sure you keep challenging your body.
Side to side pull ups These are great exercises to throw in every so often to keep challenging your body.
You start in the normal hanging position on a bar but instead of going up and down you pull to the left and right but when you do you need to pull to your hand, this ensures that you do a good quality full rep each time.
Each time you do both sides this is one rep.
Round the world pull ups These will really test your upper body strength and you will be working different parts of your back.
You start in the normal position and you do a pull up but in a circle.
So you start hanging and then you go in a circle motion.
If you ensure you get to the top of the bar as you get to the middle of the rep then on the last half of the rep you start to come back down again but in a circle motion.
These are awesome and will certainly test your pull up strength.
Pull up with leg raise These types of pull ups are the same as a normal wide arm exercise except when you come back down again you do a full straight leg raise.
Once you complete the leg raise this is one complete rep.
While you do these exercises you of course do not let go of the bar, which makes them a lot more difficult and really works your core and abs at the same time.
Now you have 3 more types of awesome wide arm variations which you can start to include in your workouts.
There are many more different types of exercises such as these but if you start to include these 3 as laid out above then they will definitely challenge your body and help to build strength, muscle and six pack abs.
