- 1). Unfold the tripod and find a suitable location on the roof peak that is free from limbs and obstructions.
- 2). Use the stud finder to locate rafters on each side of the roof peak and mark them with chalk.
- 3). Apply the sealing pad to the bottom of each tripod bracket and position the leg at the stud mark. The sealing pad and bracket comes with the tripod. Place the carpenter's level next to the mast holder and check that it is level. Level the tripod by adjusting the legs.
- 4). Use the cordless drill and 1/4-inch bit to drill three pilot holes for each leg bracket.
- 5). Insert three lag screws into the drilled pilot holes and screw in using the appropriate-size nut driver and the cordless drill for each leg bracket.
- 6). Use the putty knife to spread the roof sealer around the screw heads to ensure a proper seal and to prevent leaking at the screw holes.
