How to Wire a 2003 Ford Ranger's Radio

    • 1). Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery using an adjustable wrench.

    • 2). Insert the Ford radio removal keys into the the slots on the left and right sides of the radio. Push the keys in until they click into place. Pull on the keys to drag the stereo out of the dashboard housing. Disconnect the wire harness and unplug the radio antenna adapter.

    • 3). Attach the faceplate adapter to the radio installation sleeve proved with the new radio. Bend the tabs on the radio installation sleeve into the slots on the back of the faceplate adapter. Slide the new radio into the installation sleeve.

    • 4). Connect the radio antenna cable to the radio antenna port on the rear of the new stereo. Attach the wire harness adapter to the wire harness of the truck and the wire harness of the new stereo. Push the connections together until they click into place.

    • 5). Slide the assembled unit into the dashboard housing until it clicks into place. Take care not to trap any of the wiring. Reconnect the car battery. Test the installation by turning on the new stereo..
