- 1). Reach into the middle of a loaf of bread and pull out a soft wad. Press the soft bread against the surface of the painting, removing caked on dust and grease. Continue in this manner until you've removed all caked on dust and grease.
- 2). Run a soft bristled brush over the surface of the painting or collage, removing all crumbs from the bread.
- 3). Spray the piece of art with a clear coat of polyurethane. Move the can from left to right covering the surface of the canvas with a light coat. This will make the colors glossier.
- 4). Frame the piece in a frame that complements or contrasts with one of the main colors of the art to help make the colors pop more. For example, a gilded frame would be suitable for a pieces with lots of yellow or gold, but a red frame would be more suitable for a piece that has warmer colors.
- 1). Dampen a soft lint-free cloth with warm water. Add a few drops of mild detergent to the cloth and rub the cloth together to distribute it. Wipe down a bronze, porcelain or wood sculpture with this cloth. If the sculpture isn't too dirty just feather dust it.
- 2). Spray the pieces with a clear polyurethane finish to make it glossy. Alternatively, spray it with a tinted glaze to give it a subtle hint of color.
- 3). Place the sculpture or three-dimensional piece in an area where it contrasts with the things around it to make its colors pop more. For example, if you have a white porcelain sculpture, don't place it in front of a white wall as that will just wash it out; put it in front of a deep colored wall like dark green or brown.
