- 1). Cut a tank top approximately in half. The shorter you cut the tank top, the short your dress will sit.
- 2). Wrap your 3-yard section of fabric around your waist about one and a half times, then cut it in a straight line. Fold your fabric in half and sew along the short side seam.
- 3). Hand sew a ruffle stitch around one of the edges of the skirt. Pin the tank top to the ruffled edged and sew together.
- 4). Draw the petal design you would like to use on a piece of tracing paper. Place the iron-on adhesive on top of your design and trace the design onto it. Cut out the design.
- 5). Heat your iron. Place your fabric overtop of the traced design, face down and iron it onto the adhesive. Cut out the design and remove the adhesive backing. Place your petal in the desired spot on your dress, for example, along the bottom edge or on the straps.
- 6). Machine or hand stitch around the petal on your dress. As many petal appliques to your dress as you like.
