- 1). Determine which keys are not working by opening a document and pressing each key on the keyboard. Place a small sticker on each key to identify it.
- 2). Shut the Evo 610C down and remove the power cord from the back. Turn the laptop over and slide the battery-locking lever to the unlocked position. Remove the battery from the laptop and set it aside.
- 3). Turn the laptop over and open it up so that the keyboard is fully accessible. Open a can of compressed air and attach the small plastic straw. Place the plastic straw a few inches from the first problem key and give a short, sharp squeeze to the trigger. Spray the entire area around the key to dislodge any dirt, dust or food particles trapped underneath. Repeat the same process with the other unresponsive keys.
- 4). Shake the laptop vigorously while holding it upside down over a trash can. This will help dislodge the dirt and food particles the compressed air loosened up.
- 5). Lift each remaining problem key with a small flat-head screwdriver and reach under the key with a pair of tweezers. Test each key to make sure it is working.
