- 1). Power down and unplug your computer.
- 2). Set the PC down with the front panel of the computer facing you. Press the case release tabs firmly near the front left side and front right side on the outside of the computer case.
- 3). Slide the case top toward you while pressing the release tabs; you will feel the case top release from the chassis.
- 4). Place the computer case top aside.
- 5). Locate the chassis assembly that is built into the front computer case with the drive cage holding the hard drive. The chassis assembly is a 3-by-5-inch aluminum box.
- 6). Pull the green chassis "lift tab," moving the chassis to a 90-degree angle facing you. You will see the the hard drive within the drive chassis.
- 7). Locate the hard drive data cable. The data cable sits within the rear of the hard drive, facing up.
- 8). Firmly grasp the hard drive data cable by its insertion point.
- 9). Remove the data cable from the old hard drive.

Firmly grasp the hard drive power cable by its white plug and pull it out of the hard drive. - 11
Lift the hard drive chassis "release tab" on the left of the hard drive. - 12
Lift the old hard drive up and out of the hard drive chassis. - 13
Slide the new hard drive into the hard drive chassis and replace the hard drive power cable and hard drive data cable. - 14
Lower the hard drive chassis back into place. - 15
Put the computer cover back on. - 16
Power up your computer and confirm the new hard drive is recognized by pressing "F2."
