A primatological reserve, Monkey Jungle is home to roughly 400 primates. Monkey Jungle allows the majority of its primates to run free on its 30-acre reserve and it is the only such reserve in the United States that allows entry to the public.

Jungle Island sits on 18 acres, has an extensive horticulture program and is open 365 days a year. The island also has a priivate beach called La Playa that is open to visitors on a seasonal basis.
