Wearing a suit is recommended for your immigration interview. The suit's color should be conservative in nature, so wear a deep blue, gray or black suit. Be sure to have the suit dry-cleaned and pressed.
The shirt or blouse you wear under the suit should be lighter in color, but ensure that it is not sheer or see-through. You may want to wear an undershirt just to be sure you are appropriately covered for the interview.

Women should wear conservative, closed-toe shoes. Flats and pumps are acceptable provided the heel is 2 inches or less in height. Pantyhose should closely match skin tone and should not have a pattern on them.
For men, shoes should be black or brown, depending upon the color of the suit. They should be laced-up or tasseled loafers. Men should also wear black or brown calf-length socks to coordinate with the color of the suit.
For both parties, it is important to ensure your shoes are cleaned, shined and in good repair to make the best impression you can on the immigration interviewer. - Accessories must accent your outfit, not overpower it.Jupiterimages/Brand X Pictures/Getty Images
Try to keep your accessories limited, as this will reduce the risk of you absentmindedly playing with the accessory, making you look nervous.
Men should always wear a tie. It can be small-patterned or plain, but it must be a long neck tie. Men should also have a coordinating belt.
Women should only wear jewelry that is necessary, such as a wedding band and a small set of earrings. - Always maintain a professional demeanor before, during and after the interview.Comstock Images/Comstock/Getty Images
Try to avoid perfume and colognes if you can, as your interviewer may be allergic to them. Do apply deodorant and use mints before your interview, to help give off a pleasant scent with your professional appearance.
If you choose to carry a bag or briefcase, limit yourself to one or two bags. This prevents you from having to juggle multiple items. Make sure your bag matches your outfit's conservative theme.
