What a joy it is for the new mom and dad to finally see their newborn baby out in this world and in flesh! So many emotions are welling up between the two of them as they cuddle their new bundle of joy.

When the baby is born, the new mom usually spends most of her time taking care of the baby. And a lot of people\'s attention often goes to her and the baby, unconciously leaving the new dad out of the picture. Most of the times, the dad is disregarded because everybody including the mom just can\'t stay away from the new baby.

During the first few days, the dad usually brush away these hostile reactions, stating that it is just normal for this to happen. But he may eventually feel these neglect reactions slowly setting in inside of him as the weeks go by. He may then feel depressed that he is being neglected by all especially his wife. Oftentimes, he may also feel that he does\'nt know the baby at all.

With regards to his wife, sometimes, he may feel jealous on the attention the baby gets from his mother. He may separate himself from the two thinking that he does\'nt belong in the picture. He may even be irritated that his wife could not pay attention to his needs. This could even lead to depression when left unsettled.

The wife should not take his husband for granted just because she is busy taking care of her newborn baby. She should not disregard her husband\'s needs because that is her responsibility too. She should engage her husband into taking care of the baby also to help him become more attached with the baby. Such small activities like bathing the baby could lift up his feelings for his child and could promote bonding moments for the two of them.

Aside from getting him involved in taking care of the baby, the wife should at least spare some quality time just for her and her husband to bring back the spark of romance between the two of them. A word of appreciation and encouragement coming from her is of great help to boost her husband\'s morale.

Of course, giving a gift is also one way of thanking him for just being there for you throughout your pregnancy and up to the time that the baby is delivered and is now with you. Just a simple gift is enough to make him smile and forget all the worries and anxiety that he may be feeling during this stage.

There are a lot of great and fabulous gifts for new dads available in the market and in the net today. You just have to choose what is perfect and fitting for him considering what he wants and what he likes best. You can give him a set of cooking utensils if he is fond of cooking; if he loves to read, a good and interesting book is a perfect one.

Whatever gift you decide to give him, make sure to put a note or a card saying how much you love and appreciate him in your life.
