- 1). Write the names of your wedding guests and theirs table numbers on small- to medium-size pieces of card stock or blank tags. The size, style and color of the card stock or tags should match your theme in some way. You might also want to match the ink color of ink to your wedding colors. When writing your guests' names, use the full first and last name of single guests and use "Mr. and Mrs." in front of the last name for married guests. If one of your guests is bringing someone whose name you do not know, simply write your invitee's name followed by "and guest."
- 2). Use a hole puncher to punch a hole in the top of each card.
- 3). Fill a large vase with tall branches. The vase and branches can be purchased at most craft stores. Again, try to match the vase to the style and theme of your wedding. For example, use a jar-style vase for a country wedding or a ornate vase for a formal wedding.
- 4). Place a small piece of ribbon or string through the hole of each escort card and tie it to a branch. For a country wedding, use brown packaging string; for a formal wedding use satin ribbons in your wedding colors. To make it easier for guests to find their names, organize them in alphabetical order. When tying the cards to the branches, make a loop so they are easy to remove, then tie them in a loose bow or simply knot them on.
