I have always been figuring out how to build my own product mini website and blog all these years, but am not able to setup one due to my limited knowledge in technical know-how.
Finally, I am very grateful to learn how much easier it is to build mini website and blog with WordPress software from a blogging workshop.
Most importantly after the workshop, I learned that WordPress is a highly flexible open source software with SEO features built-in; thus it facilitates many Internet marketers who wish to increase their website and blog ranking at no cost.
What I personally benefited from this workshop are: (1) Training on how to register a domain name to host a WordPress mini website/blog online to my interest.
It is advantageous to create website/blog according to our interest so that it is much easier for us to answer queries from visitors, present product related articles, and convince readers that we are the subject expert, and not just purely marketer or product promoter.
(2) Tips on how to monetize from our product mini website/blog to earn additional passive income.
Selling our own physical or digital product via website/blog is our ultimate objective.
However, there are many other ways to promote other marketers' products via our website/blog and earn a commission out of it as well.
(3) Tips on how to improve your website/blog ranking in search engine, without needed to pay huge amount to get it done.
Even if you go the easy way to pay for high ranking, there is no guarantee it will sustain there for long.
It is better to learn the technique.
Though some hard work is needed to put in, it is much more sustainable in the long run as you acquire the skill to sustain it.
(4) Know the difference between the characteristics of website and blog.
It is advisable to analyze whether our product/service is more suitable to market via which distributing channel.
Every product/service has a more productive mode to draw in more traffic, which we have to find out to our marketing advantage.
For example, employment placement services is better to be hosted as a website as your clients know what they want before visiting your website, thus it is just a matter of what attractive service package is offered by you that attracts them.
This is what I termed as a 'need to have' service for the potential customers.
On the other hand, digital product like 'how to earn passive income' is better to market via a blog.
I termed this as a 'good to have' product.
A blog with constant information update and sincere sharing can increase the confidence of your readers and build credential for yourself over the long run.
People tend to buy 'good to have' products from trustworthy sellers, and blog is an excellent channel to build up relationship and trust over the long run.
After the workshop, I managed to setup my first descent looking blog, though not as professional yet.
Great encouragement to myself is, after building up my first blog and hosted it online, I feel a great sense of satisfaction and it motivated me to duplicate the same process to create my second blog using a different WordPress theme for another product.
The lesson I learned from this duplication process is: we need not know how a mechanism works (if we are not capable to do so), so long we learn its applications, we still can get the task done.

I change my perception of WORDPRESS theme after I have explored its various flexible features and applied them.
Actually we can customize our blog/website WordPress themes simply by editing only, and need not creating, to achieve our desired design without having much technical knowledge to do so.
So do not have the impression that just WORDPRESS theme is free; it has low or no value.
Instead it is otherwise if you explore deeper into its features.
