Alternative Electrical Sources - Living Green

Today, more then ever before the world is in need of alternative and renewable sources to generate electricity for home and commercial uses. Electric providers are forever asking governments to approve rate hikes and our costs are soaring as our demands for power are always increasing.

Today's appliances are being built to be more efficient and use less electricity, but we have more of them in our homes than ever before. Many of these appliances draw power even when they are not in use.
Energy is all around us and new ways are constantly being explored to harness these free sources of energy to convert to electricity.
In remote sections of the world villagers are using ground probes to power LED lights and charge cell phones and other small batteries by utilizing energy produced by bacteria living in the soil.

For quite some time farmers have been harnessing the wind through the use of windmills to power pumps to provide water for crops in remote fields, a practice that is still practical today.

We have longed dammed rivers to power mills and today we produce power from massive hydroelectric plants. Innovation has always been the key to the survival and future of Man.

Perhaps our greatest known source of natural energy is the Sun.
Man has for centuries been harnessing and using its awesome power. Today though we are expanding our capacities and are utilizing solar energy and wind power to provide electricity for the population as large utility companies are contracting to build huge solar conductor plants and large wind mill fields to supply electricity to end users. This will be a huge accomplishment as we move away from our dependency on non-renewable fuels like natural gas, coal and fossil fuels to produce electricity.

Another new technology that is being developed and shows great promise is Zero Point Energy, an application from quantum physics that is both renewable and amazingly it is powered by perpetual motion and produces its own energy to run as well as surplus energy and in theory will run and produce energy forever, or until its parts wear out.

It is a magnetic powered generator that is capable of producing electricity and depending on size can provide enough energy to power small appliances to whole houses.
Experts predict that by 2020 large utility companies will start implementing this technology to create cheaper and environmentally friendly energy.

Today's technology was yesterday's science fiction and today's science fiction will be tomorrow's reality. Just imagine what the future holds for Man as his quest for knowledge and Green Living moves onward.

But what about our present needs? Can we take advantage of these new and not so new technologies to power our homes? Absolutely and positively yes. A simple internet search will bring you a wealth of information and the availability of plans to build your own devices to harness the Sun, Wind and the power of magnetic forces to supplement your power needs and in some case provide income as you sell unused and surplus power you create back to the power company.

It has been stated that anyone with just a little mechanical experience with small hand tools and a DIY spirit is capable of building any one of these alternative electricity sources and can begin living GREEN.
