How to Catch the Mouse in Your House

How to catch a mouse in your house could be a dilemma as you wonder how to deal with it. Rodents that invade our houses are definitely unwanted not only due to their gnawing but also the diseases and dirt they come in with. Mice are thus known to be very destructive and dangerous to human beings.

There are differing methods that property owners use when it comes to dealing with them. Some are humane while others are not. Listed below are some of the methods that have proved helpful in getting rid of them.

1. Use of Glue Traps: Glue traps are widely used and they are accessible in most local stores. After purchasing the trap all one needs to do is use bait using a type of food that attracts them and place the trap where mice have been
seen. Placing them in corners will reduce the chances of stepping on them while walking in the house.

2. Using humane Trap: This is a method that will help you catch the mouse without killing it. A paper towel tube is used although it should be big enough for a mouse to fit and also support its weight. Placing it horizontally on the edge of a bench or table with bait (most preferable peanut butter) on one end.The distance between bench holding the tube and the floor should be a few inches. Get an empty bucket and place it beneath the tube and when the mouse tries to into the tube and have the peanut it will fall inside the empty bucket. Ensure the bucket is some feet tall to prevent it from jumping out.

3. Use a traditional trap: It is a method that has been used for very many years and they can either be purchased online or in local stores. What one needs to do is locate where the mice are maybe in a drawer or cupboard. Ensure the trap is baited with any good food that entices the mice with its smell and hook it on the hook specially placed for this. Chances are high that the mouse is going to reach out for it and it will be caught eventually.

4. The use of peppermint oil: Is a method known to keep them away. The fact that rodents are attracted by the scent of food is why this method has proved to work out. Its smell is not really pleasant and it is also very strong and it keeps them away. Pure mint is also very helpful for it repels them and all one needs to do is sprinkle some fresh mint leaves on their pathway or where they seem to frequent. Ensuring you replace the leaves from time to time is imperative.
