- The Chevrolet Tahoe SUV was introduced in 1995. The Tahoe is still produced as of the 2011 edition and comes with plenty of options, both interior and exterior. From 2000 to 2006, the second generation of Tahoe was produced, available in models such as LS, LT, and Z71. The 2002 Tahoe Z71 was the more expensive model of the year.
- The 2002 Tahoe Z71 came standard with a 275 horsepower, 4.8-liter V8 engine. Also available was a 285 horsepower, 5.3-liter V8 engine. The larger engine could produce 325 feet-pounds of torque and achieve maximum horsepower at 5,200 rpm. The 5.3-liter engine could achieve about 13 mpg city and 16 mpg highway.
- The 2002 Tahoe Z71 was a full-time four-wheel drive SUV. It came with a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Overdrive allows the engine to achieve greater fuel efficiency while reducing engine wear. The SUV also came with four-wheel vented disc brakes and recirculating ball steering.
- The 2002 Tahoe Z71 came with front and rear bench seats. The front driver and passenger seats feature six-way power direction controls. Cloth seats came standard, with leather available. The SUV came with power locks, power windows, and separate controls for front and rear air conditioning. Safety features included four-wheel anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger front and side-impact airbags, and side-impact bars.
