Holiday World in Santa Clause, Indiana is a fun destination for families and best known for Holiday World amusement park, which was once called Santa Clause World. While the town is best known for Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, there are many other attractions for families, such as the Santa Clause post office, Santa's Candy Castle (a candy store) and Santa Clause Museum. It is an inexpensive vacation, and staying in a cabin can be the bonding experience a family needs. There are many options for cabins in this picturesque town.

    Lake Rudolph

    • Lake Rudolph is a large family RV park and campground located on Lake Rudolph, right next door to the Holiday World theme park. The great thing about this campground is that it rents tents or RVs to families and has a selection of around 200. Rental cabins start at around $120 a night, and rental RVs start as low as $70 a night. The campground has tons of amenities geared toward families, such as swimming pools, basketball courts, miniature golf, hiking trails and even a fishing lake.

    Santa's Lakeside Cottages

    • To get away from the hustle and bustle of Holiday World while still being close enough to visit, check out Santa's Lakeside Cottages, about two miles away from the theme park. The cottages are quite reasonably priced for a family on a budget. They sleep up to six people and feature a patio, fishing in a nearby lake and even a grill so you can cook up lunch or dinner for your family. The smallest cabin starts at $125 per night off season.

    Lincoln State Park

    • Nearby Lincoln State Park offers options for those who enjoy cabin rentals. The park has 10 miles of hiking trails and views of two beautiful lakes. Your family can even go canoeing. Group cabins are available, making this location ideal for large families or a group of friends. You'll also find a lot of history in Indiana's Spencer County, where the park is located, related to President Abraham Lincoln as a boy. Be sure to phone the parks department early or make a reserve online since the cabins often fill up well before the vacation season gets into full swing. Some cabins have a waiting list. Prices vary, but plan to spend about $75 per night for a small family-size cabin that sleeps up to six people.
