- 1). Create a list of items you will need to bake cupcakes for your baby shower. Check to see if you have these items on hand. If not, go to the store to purchase them. These include the items needed to decorate the cupcakes.
- 2). Mix the cupcake batter according to its packaging directions. Place the cupcake liners into the cupcake pan. Pour the batter into cupcake liners. Bake the cupcakes at the recommended temperature and time. Once they are finished baking, allow them to cool for 20 to 30 minutes before you begin decorating them for the baby shower.
- 3). Decorate the cupcakes according to the theme of the baby shower. Frost the cupcakes. You can make pink frosting for a girl-themed baby shower by adding a few drops of red food color to white frosting and mixing it together. Create blue frosting for a boy-themed baby shower by adding a few drops of blue food color to white frosting.
- 4). Add small, decorative baby accessories to the cupcakes. These can be doll-sized pacifiers or baby shower-themed cupcake picks. Cupcake picks are the size of regular tooth picks and are inserted into the cupcakes. They come decorated in various themes, colors and shapes. Use edible cupcake toppings if you plan to have kids at the baby shower. This will prevent any choking hazards. Use decorative icing to spell the baby's name on top of the cupcakes for simpler classic looks and sprinkle it with edible glitter.
- 5). Display the cupcakes on cupcake holders. These holders can be found at your local party supply store. Place these cupcake holders on each table at the baby shower.
