Three Decorating Tips to Wow Your Guests

It isn't hard to give your wedding the look of custom decorating by using just a few simple tricks.
Here are three I think you will like, they are fun and easy to do.
Here is a little decorating trick to add a romantic touch to your reception.
Reception seating is not always the most attractive.
However, by adding a little something like a bow and you can make the chair look better.
Add a full bow of organza or tulle and battery operated mini lights hidden in the bow and you have a more formal appeal, a bit of bling, and soft, romantic lighting.
Do not be afraid of batteries dying half way through the evening.
Most brands of batteries regardless of price will last between 15 and 22 hours.
The trick to getting the longest battery life is to leave the lights on.
Turning lights off and on substantially reduces the life of the battery.
You can find battery operated mini lights at dollar discount stores year round or order online.
Battery operated lights whether the small mini lights or flashlights used as spots work well in areas where electrical outlets are limited or where electricity is not available as on the beach or in parks.
You may also want to check out the solar mini lights that have a battery backup, they are wonderful and can greatly expand your decorating options.
For brides wanting a Unity Candle for their outdoor wedding here is another tip.
Remove the wick from a trick birthday candle, and cut it in half.
Take a along skinny nail or upholstery needle and soak it in hot water.
When it is hot, carefully insert it into the top of the unity candle as close to the existing wick as possible to create a hole.
Place your trick wick into the hole and drip a few drops of wax around the base of the inserted wick.
You have to work fast so the wax will hold the wick in place.
That's it, you can let the wind blow, your unity candle will stay lit.
Looking for a custom display at your reception here is something you can try.
Take a sheet of insulating foam from your local hardware store  or foam board from a craft store and on the shinny side using chalk, draw your design, name or initials.
With a flexible template create a series of holes spaced about 1 ½ inches apart along the lines of your design.
It is very important to make the holes go completely through the foam.
Now flip the foam over and using mini lights insert the bulbs into the holes.
Use duct tape to secure any loose cord.
Flip the foam board over and the tips of the bulbs have become your design, plug in the lights and enjoy your custom design.
I have used these tricks many times for window displays, parties and weddings and it wows them every time.
Just remember to relax,  take your time and have your supplies handy before beginning.
