Might This Be the Most Important Question For These Times, For Leadership, and For All of Us?

Leaders, wherever they are, and whoever they are, would be wise to face up to this vital question.
Believers in Jesus Christ in various parts of the world are sensing that we are living in final days.
There is a mounting crisis.
It has been mentioned many times over recent years, in the place where we worship, that we are experiencing that shaking of which the letter to the Hebrews speaks.
The factual signs are evident even to secular commentators.
In the light of that - for disciples of Jesus Christ - what is the most important issue of the hour? Perhaps the most important issue for these times has to do with having a faith that will last - what has been called 'enduring faith'.
Will my faith endure what is coming? Will the faith of God's people endure whatever is a-coming - the terrible shaking of all things - intense trials and testings - which perhaps no previous generation has faced? We have mentioned that verse - these words of Jesus Christ many times too - "He who endures to the end will be saved".
When Jesus spoke these words He had just described some of the things that would explode across the face of the earth - false messiahs - wars - nation pitted against nation - upheavals in the natural world - earthquakes and pestilence - persecution and martyrdom.
There will be widespread deception and the love of many will grow cold.
There have been various shakings and many challenges since this year began.
For the Church of Jesus Christ the main issue is not the details of the shakings uncertainties and deceptions - it is not the matter of the possibility of economic collapse - nor is it about who is Prime Minister or who Presides over our nation or any other nation - it is the matter of enduring faith.
Will our faith last? In Luke Chapter 18 verse 8, we read, "When the Son of Man comes will He find faith on the earth?" Jesus asks this question having just spoken about that persistent woman - and uses her persistence as an example of the type of enduring faith which He is looking for.
Jesus knew that only this quality of faith would sustain people in the times to come.
Jesus deals with this too in the parable of the sower - those who have no root - and so only endure for a while - but when tribulation arises and persecution comes because of the Word - he quickly falls away.
Wherever you are reading this make sure that you have built on a good sound solid foundation so that when the shaking intensifies you will be able to stand and if you are a leader do not be afraid to teach this to others.
They will thank you for it when the hour of testing and tribulation explodes.
Leaders must lead with sincerity, honesty and integrity, always being true to the truth.
