It is possible to control your anxiety provided you are aware of what is going on and what to do to control it.
This is not an easy thing to do and there is no one surefire way for everybody.
Below are some of the things which do good to me.
Accept it and let it go It may not seem so complicated but this is very difficult to accomplish.
It is important though not to deny that you have anxiety attack or related symptoms.
By denying you're only stressing over feelings, instead of trying to find the cause(s) of your attack.
What was a raging river may turn into a flood of emotions.
Focus on why you're feeling this way and not what is happening to you.
What is happening to you will not put you in danger.
Open yourself to them, regardless of their strength.
Doing so will block added fear or anxiety.
Distract yourself by finding and focusing on a task to do.
If you deny yourself any extra fear, you will find yourself relaxing on its own accord after a short time elapse.
Try and try again While it is possible for you to have control over your anxiety, it is also normal to encounter some failures in trying to do it.
Do not lose heart since this happens to everybody who is suffering from anxiety attack.
However persistent effort will conditioned your brain to think that the anxiety is not a threat - which will result to less full scaled anxiety attacks.
Medication and therapy are indeed great help in coping with your anxiety.
But it is my firm belief that to get out of your anxious state you need to do it the same way you fell into it, namely gradually.
