- 1). Make a mock-up of the plate you would like to create. If you decide you would like a photo or clip-art image printed on your custom plates, scan the photo and save it as a .jpg or .gif file.
- 2). Browse Internet sites that specialize in personalized party supplies, such as Customepaperplates.com, Thediscountprinter.com and Hallmark.com. Compare prices and delivery speeds, as well as options available for color, fonts, and sizing of the personalized plates. Adjust your mock-up design if it is not feasible to have it printed. Check to be sure the manufacturer can accommodate the size of file you have if you are using one. Some sites will require a minimum order number.
- 3). Input the wording and message you would like printed on the plate in the form provided by the website you choose. Ensure that the font is legible and sized properly. If you are using a dark font, opt for a lighter shade of plate and vice-versa. Include line-breaks just as you want them to appear on the plate.
- 4). Upload your image when prompted by the form. If the photo does not fit the way you want it, resize or crop it in your photo software, save and upload the new version. Preview your design, and pay attention to spelling, punctuation and centering of the words and positioning of the image.
- 5). Confirm your order and write down the order number in case there is a problem with printing or shipping.
